Find a Freight Forwarder in Bhutan

Find a Freight Forwarder in Bhutan with our Comprehensive Listing. As a landlocked country, the transportation infrastructure of Bhutan centers around its road network and four main airports. While the country has no rail system, there are 4,991 km of paved road and 3,059 km of unpaved road. The primary avenue of travel is the country’s east-west highway, which is known locally as the Lateral Road. The most common method of moving freight via road is by eight-ton, 300 hp trucks. There are many single-track bridges that hinder road transport, but the country is in the process of replacing these with two-way girder spans. Paro International Airport (PBH) is the main airport in the country and the only one offering international flights. There is only one runway and less than twenty-four pilots are certified to land at the airport. The other three airports service each other and Paro exclusively. There are no pipelines into or out of the country and there are no seaports or inland waterways.
